Classic Furniture Designer

Inspired from the Classic Longue Chair by Charles Eames 1907

One of the most important American designers of this century. Charles Eames is best known for his groundbreaking contributions to architecture, furniture design, industrial design and manufacturing, as well as artistic photography.

Born in 1907 in St. Louis, Missouri, he started his own architectural office in 1930 where he began extending his design ideas beyond architecture. Charles Eames then received a fellowship to Cranbrook Academy of Art in Michigan, where he eventually became head of the design department.
